Spring time bowfishing is where it is at!

Its time to hone your skills  bow fishing . The water levels are dropping for the summer, to low pool. A lot of the exotics are moving up shallows to spawn, making them easy targets.  Improve your accuracy for the Gator hunts, by shooting exotic fish, and help Florida control its non native species of fish. Such as Tilapia, Pecos, and Armored Catfish.  Also catfish, gar, and mudfish are fair game. Spring fishing is upon us.

The Bass are just about finished spawning on the Kissimmee chain of lakes, West Lake Toho. The last bedding fish  are out in 4 feet of water. The Red ear sun fish are spawning in shallow water for the first part of April. The Bluegill will follow. Bait of choice will be Crickets and live red worms. February is here. Hang for big Bass and Crappie!

February is one of my favorite months. The big female Bass are in shallow spawning. Big appetites,big  shiners, equals big Bass. The spawn will be happening all over the Kissimmee chain of lakes.  The Crappie are moving in and out of the Lilly pads. Males will be in first. The Females will follow.  February trips are filling up. go to the reservation page and book your next trip.

January is one of the best months to fish on the Kissimmee chain. The Bass have moved up and started spawning in a 12 inches of water.   The crappie are also moving in . The males are making there first push in to the Kissimmee grass to compete for spawning area. This is the best time to fish.  Let us take you on your next fishing adventure.

Big Bass moving shallow.

On my recent trips, The smaller male bass have been moving in shallow to compete for spawning area. The Big Females aren’t far behind.  I expect the first spawn will be in 1 foot of water , happening close to Christmas day. Its time to book a trip, and go catch a big Bass of a lifetime.

The Holidays are upon us

The water temperatures on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes have been staying in the 60s. This will make the smaller male Bass, start to move in to shallow waters to compete for spawning areas.  The Crappies have been moving from open water to the outside edge of the kissimmee grass looking for food.  The best bait of choice would be a Crappie jig tipped with a minnow and fish along the edge of the kissimmee grass.
